Microsoft Office Template Design for Airlink, Inc.
Challenge:
The marketing director of Airlink, a non-profit relief NGO based in DC, came to me for assistance in creating business document templates for their employees.
Process:
The company was using a mix of Canva and other templates and wished to move everything to Microsoft Office format for consistency throughout their organization and distribution via SharePoint. They provided their existing files and brand guidelines. I created a master Microsoft PowerPoint template using slide masters and created a custom color palette and font theme which was then imported into Microsoft Word to create two more document templates. The open-source fonts spec’d in their guidelines were attached to the templates for visual consistency across all users, and instructions for font download were also provided if the user needed to install for use outside these templates.
Final Design:
The PowerPoint template included several title slide layouts, varied interior slide layouts, and thorough instructions on formatting. Two business document templates in Microsoft Word were provided, with customized type styles for ease of formatting. The client and their employees were very pleased with the results and immediately started using the templates in their day-to-day work.
